A note on neon: why true neon is so hard to show

Why our neons can look muted on your phone or in print — and what we do to keep the real garment as vibrant as it should be.

Please note: the neon colours used in the CoralCubs brand — neon yellow, orange, pink and green — cannot be accurately displayed on every screen, or reproduced with standard printing methods.

Why?

Screens (RGB)

Digital displays — phones, tablets, computers — use the RGB colour model, which can show a wide range of bright colours, including vivid neons. Even then, screen calibration and brightness settings affect how the colours appear. Try taking a photo of a neon orange Post-it with your phone: you'll see the brightness just doesn't come through on the screen.

Printing (CMYK)

Most standard printers use CMYK inks, which are not capable of reproducing the intense vibrancy of neon shades. Neons often appear more muted in print unless special spot inks — such as Pantone Neon colours — are used.

What we do

To maintain visual consistency and brand quality:

These high-visibility colours are at the heart of the CoralCubs brand — chosen not just for aesthetic reasons, but to increase safety and visibility for children in water and on busy beaches.
